Some changes are happening ..........

………………………………………………so I’m putting my dslr away for now……………………………………………..

Towards the last few months of 2018, I sat down and began to work on ideas for what I wanted to do with Butterfly Rose Designs in 2019. I was very excited (and nervous) for the goals I had set for myself. In my mind, 2019 was going to be amazing!

Unfortunately, just as my plans were starting to come together, everything came crashing down (quite literally) when I slipped on wet tiles and landed on the floor at home. I’m not gonna lie - it really hurt - and to make matters worse, I also aggravated an existing long term injury.

Still, I was determined to move forward with my goals. My body, however, had other ideas. It seemed the harder I tried, the more difficult things became and I was going nowhere. Holding my dslr and editing on my computer was painful each day.

So I had to make the decision to put my dslr away for now. I’m not shooting for clients or even my personal projects.

Once I came to terms with my decision, I had to ask myself: “What now?”

Well, I was still able to use my mobile phone to capture and edit photos. My @withflowersinherphone account on Instagram had a lot of engagement and I was already sharing ideas about how I take and edit my phone photos. I had presented an in-person workshop about phone photography before, and it was always my plan to create something similar online.

Over the coming months Butterfly Rose Designs will be all about mobile photography. With a newsletter, more tutorials, videos and even an online workshop happening later this year (finally).

My focus will be to help mobile photographers create images they love.

Stay tuned!
